Privacy Policy - The Lance-Lantz-Lentz-Lence People, Inc.
Lance-Lantz-Lentz-Lence People, Inc. (hereafter referred to as “4L”) respects the privacy rights of its members. This policy summarizes what personally identifiable information we collect, and how we might use this information. This policy was approved by the 4L Executive Committee in February of 2004, and formally approved by the 4L membership in the June 2004 annual meeting.
Information Collection/Removal
4L will collect personally identifiable information (name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address) that is provided by individuals interested in 4L membership. This information is required for 4L membership, and it may be obtained by mail, phone, email or other contacts.
In addition, 4L will collect any voluntary general information about an individual’s family genealogy as related to the Lance/Lentz family names and their derivatives for the express purpose of raising family awareness and fellowship within the organization.
Individuals wishing to be removed from the 4L membership may request by mail, phone, email or other contacts. When removed, all personally identifiable information for an individual is removed from current membership information.
4L does not collect personally identifiable information from children under age 13 without permission of the child's parent or legal guardian.
Access/Use of Information
The 4L Executive Board has access to all membership information as described above, and it will use such information to fulfill the goals of the organization (such as mailing out yearly reunion announcements) as outlined in its Constitution (Article II – Purpose).
An individual’s personally identifiable information will not be provided or sold to any individual, organization, third party, or 4L member outside of the 4L Executive Board without the express written consent of an individual. This written consent is submitted to the 4L Board for review/approval at one of its business meetings, and this written consent is retained by the Secretary in 4L records.
No past or present 4L Executive Board member may distribute or use membership information for any purpose without approval from the current 4L Executive Board.
Other Important Information
While 4L seeks to increase family awareness and fellowship, 4L does not accept responsibility for the independent activities of its past, present or future members (such as an individual who publishes a family-related book).
It may be necessary, if required by law or if pertinent to judicial or governmental investigations, to release a member’s personally identifiable information.
4L reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. 4L will promptly reflect any such modifications in all organization materials and make them available on the 4L web site and at reunions.Copyright (c) 2000-2008 by The Lance-Lantz-Lentz-Lence People, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
